The Newberry Library
I took these photos while working at the Newberry. One of the great aspects of the Newberry is the ability to actually handle books that are centuries old. Paging through a 500 year old book and touching the parchment is truly a unique experience. It has given me a deeper respect for history and a greater understanding of the origins of printed communication. And I'll never forget that old book smell, which I believe is the smell of knowledge.
