Responsibilities: Partnering with the managing editor to design a biannual 200 page publication, managing printers and vendors

Work: Redesigned identity and publication, created advertising, developed promotional materials and produced illustration

Synopsis: Asked to redesign the 20+ year-old independent creative writing and poetry magazine in the hopes of improving falling subscriptions and weakening interest from the writing community. The first redesigned issue sold-out, while subscriptions and buzz are increasing with each new issue.

Responsibilities: Closely collaborated with the Marketing Director, Vice President of Development, Library President and department heads to create and implement institution-wide branding and strategic planning, managed projects, negotiated with vendors, collaborated with exhibit designers, worked with board members, delivered presentations and public speaking, volunteer work and event organizing, worked with historical artifacts

Work: Brand implementation, corporate identity, logo design, annual reports, advertising, collateral materials, publication design, information design, book design, environmental and exhibit graphics, interactive design, typographic revival, photography and illustration

Synopsis: The Newberry is a world-class research library and cultural institution that has been open to the public since 1887, so it was surprising to learn that branding was a new concept for them. With very limited resources, I set out with the Marketing Director, determined to (re)shape the Newberry's image and expose the institution for the wondrous, inspiring and invaluable humanities resource that it could be for the public at large.

Synopsis: Upon graduation I taught a weekly marker rendering workshop for undergraduate students of different majors.

Responsibilities: Serviced Leo Burnett by working with Production Designers, Art Directors and a team of Production Assistants to create presentations, comps, print-ready artwork and just about anything else imaginable with an Xacto knife and some spray mount, all while tracking labor and materials in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
